Éric Ciotti, a graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (1988) and a former parliamentary assistant, served as chief of staff to Christian Estrosi, president of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes.
He was elected deputy on June 17, 2007, at the age of 41, for the 13th legislature (2007-2012), in the First constituency of Alpes-Maritimes, obtaining 60.92% of the votes in the second round against the Socialist Party candidate, Patrick Allemand. He is a member of the UMP group at the National Assembly, where he also serves on the Law Commission.
Following Christian Estrosi’s election as mayor of Nice, Éric Ciotti became the first deputy mayor of France’s fifth-largest city.
