The dancer and choreographer Eric Vu-An died at the age of 60 from a brain tumor. It was only ten days after the death of his husband, Hugues Gall, that he left to join him. Director of the Ballet Nice Mรฉditerranรฉe since 2009, he held this position until his death.

Christian Estrosi reacted in a statement: “His talent, passion, and dedication left a mark on the culture in our city, to which he largely contributed through his magnificent choreography of great classics like Don Quixote, Coppรฉlia, or Raymonda, as well as new creations with talented choreographers that made our ballet shine.โ The Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, also paid tribute to him: “The dance world loses an exceptional artist, an international star from the Paris Opera Ballet School, and the Ballet Nice Mรฉditerranรฉe loses a talented director.โ
