Escota announces the new subscription that reduces the current cost by 30%. Will it be enough to silence the controversies?

Targeted by the Yellow Vests, accused by some political parties of exploiting users by taking advantage of particularly favorable concession contracts, pressured by the Government to make a “commercial” gesture, the concessionary companies had announced a “reduced” rate for motorists who use the highway daily or almost daily for professional reasons.

A sort of subscription like those applied in public transport.

This is being implemented starting February 1st.

Regarding Nice and the department, Escota is responsible for the implementation. This does not prevent the PCF and Debout la France (see the corresponding articles in the “news briefs” section) from calling for nationalization!

Starting February 1st, Escota (a subsidiary of VINCI Autoroutes) will offer a new subscription allowing savings on toll expenses. Designed to facilitate daily commutes, Ulys 30 will offer regular highway users, making at least 10 round trips per month (or the equivalent of 20 trips, regardless of the direction), a 30% discount on all these trips and any subsequent ones.

The Antibes East – Saint Laurent du Var route, one of the most traveled, costing 1.60 euros per passage, will see a current monthly expenditure of 32 euros reduced to 22.40 euros, resulting in a monthly saving of 9.60 euros and 115.20 euros annually.

Will this measure be enough to silence the controversies? We are waiting for the reactions…
