The 3rd Charity Dinner of the Antoine Lacassagne Center was held at the Palais des rois Sardes. An evening marked by solidarity and medical innovation, which raised 60,000 euros in support of the TARGET research project.
The Antoine Lacassagne Cancer Control Center brought together healthcare professionals, renowned chefs, local personalities, and partner companies for its 3rd Charity Dinner. The event took place within the Palais des rois Sardes in Nice.
The funds collected – 60,000 euros – will be dedicated to the TARGET project, led by Dr. Esma Saada-Bouzid, a medical oncologist. This study aims to assess the relevance of liquid biopsy in diagnosing and monitoring metastatic cancers.
This method is based on a simple blood sample to analyze circulating tumor DNA. It could allow for more tailored treatments for each patient, without invasive procedures. The project will be carried out over two years as part of the CLIP² program, a label from the National Cancer Institute.
Concrete support for innovation in oncology
The evening began with an auction hosted by Maître Antonini. Artworks, signed jerseys, and unique experiences found new owners.
The dinner was then prepared by eight chefs, several of whom are Meilleurs Ouvriers de France. Patrick Raingeard coordinated the culinary creations, served in five courses. Gastronomy was put in the service of science.
Testimonies punctuated the evening. Emma Scali and her daughter Ella Minatchy presented their podcast dedicated to Basile, a husband and father taken by a sudden cancer. A personal and artistic project that gives a voice to those who remain and fight.
Finally, Ludovic Giuly and Robin Haziza concluded the event with a raffle, offering two tickets to the upcoming BullPadel Show in Juan-les-Pins.
For Professor Emmanuel Barranger, the center’s general director, this evening reminds us of “the importance of collective support in offering patients the best chances of recovery.”
