Euro 2016: no team will stay in Nice and its region

Latest News

EURO 2016 is approaching, we are 100 days away from the start of the competition, which will be held this year in France, from June 10 to July 10.

The time has come to put all the French at the heart of the event: from April 1 to June 9, the Trophy Tour will take young and old aboard its event-themed train for an extraordinary adventure.

It’s an opportunity to discover the Trophy and the history of this object that has become iconic over the course of the European Championships. It’s also an opportunity to share the festive atmosphere that the tournament will bring, with many activities.

The train consists of four themed cars, with a length of 80 meters. Dedicated to the general public, these cars present more than 30 activities and can accommodate up to 300,000 visitors. They will be invited to live the Trophy experience: an immersion on the field where they can take photos in the center circle, with a panoramic view of the stadium.

The inaugurations at the stations will be followed by a Trophy parade in each city, according to an itinerary organized by the cities.

The Train will be at Nice station from May 20 to 22.

Additionally, the Euro 2016 SAS has revealed the list of base camps where the 24 teams will be set up during the tournament. The teams chose their residences from a catalog of 68 proposals.

Four teams will settle in the PACA region.

Ukraine: Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhรดne/southeast)

Turkey: Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer (Var/southeast)

Austria: Mallemort (Bouches-du-Rhรดne/southeast)

Hungary: Tourettes (Var/southeast)

We can imagine that the President of the PACA Region will have a big smile while the mayor of Nice and President of the Metropolis will rather have a gloomy face.

Preferred by Marseille and Var residents!!! Where has the appeal of the Riviera gone?
