Drowning is “the leading cause of accidental mortality in everyday life among those under 25 in France,” according to [the public health website](https://www.santepubliquefrance.fr/maladies-et-traumatismes/traumatismes/noyade). Therefore, the city of Nice is organizing the free event “Everyone in the Water” to prevent this risk.
## Aquatic Activities
This Saturday, June 25, from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, 5 public swimming pools and 1 beach will offer activities focused on drowning prevention. The “Everyone in the Water” program includes baby swimming sessions, aquatic gardens, anti-panic tests, drowning risk prevention workshops, and water activities on the beach. All these activities will be supervised by the Lifeguards of the City of Nice, with the assistance of the First Aid for All and the 06 Mediterranean First Aid Association.
## Raising Awareness Among the Maximum Number of People
The goal of “Everyone in the Water”? To raise awareness from a young age about the risks associated with swimming. Both parents and children need to be aware of water-related dangers. As the public health website states, nearly “1,000 deaths (including around 400 during the summer period)” are related to drowning.
