The Ferrero Gallery, known for supporting artists from the School of Nice (Arman, Ben, César, Sosno, etc.) since the 1970s, is also committed to promoting current talents from the Nice region.
The youngest artist of this New Wave is Jérémy Taburchi, born in 1974… in Nice, of course. A self-taught artist, Taburchi has gained attention in recent years for his humorous drawings, published by the local press, featuring a comic strip character—a pink cat with a very human personality.
The author places his cat in all sorts of situations and attributes it with often biting remarks. Recently, Taburchi has transitioned from pencils and paper to brushes and canvases. He also creates bas-relief or high-relief sculptures in resin. Happily returning to his favorite character, Taburchi creates colorful and playful works that align well with the artistic direction of the Ferrero Gallery, where art reflects the southern zest for life.
Guillaume Aral, the gallery’s director, is giving Jérémy Taburchi a chance by exhibiting his work from March 10 to 31. Let’s bet that art enthusiasts will quickly adopt his endearing pink cat.
