-This week, no fewer than 10 new films are making their debut in the Mercury cinema’s lineup.

On Friday, January 28 at 8:30 PM, the Cinรฉmas Sans Frontiรจres weekly debate will revolve around Park Chan-Wookโ€™s film “Old Boy.” This film won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, with the jury president at the time, Quentin Tarantino, stating it was his favorite film.

-Three new films are scheduled for this week.

First, “Harry Brown” by Daniel Barber in French. Michael Caine excels in this role of a killer alongside Emily Mortimer.

The producer of “Uncle Boonmee,” Charles de Meaux, has created a beautiful film about the world of racing, “Stretch,” with Nicolas Cazalรฉ (excellent), Chinese star Fan Bing Bing, and David Carradine in his last big-screen appearance.

Finally, “Dessine-toi” is a moving documentary about children creating their self-portrait… 4,000 of them responded to the call from director Gilles Porte, hailing from all continents and 33 countries…

-Six films in continuous showings. “The Social Network” returns to us after a forced hiatus due to the Tรฉlรฉrama Festival. For the exploration cinema, “Women are Heroes” by the photographer JR revisits the work of this conceptual artist. Straight from the Rialto, after only a week in theaters, “Propriรฉtรฉ interdite” by Hรฉlรจne Angel showcases the talent of Valรฉrie Bonneton (who should receive a Cรฉsar for “Les Petits mouchoirs”) alongside Charles Berling.

We’ve waited a long time, but “A bout portant” is finally at Mercury cinema with Gilles Lellouche, Roschdy Zem, and Gรฉrard Lanvin in a film by Fred Cavayรฉ (“Anything for Her”).

Itโ€™s also our favorite of the week.
