-Sunday, July 24, from 8 am to 11 am, will mark the fourth day of the “Grands Cols du Mercantour” operation by bike, with the ascent of the Col de la Bonette, situated at 2,715 meters.
This legendary road is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its construction this year.
From the departure at Saint-Etienne de Tinรฉe to the summit of the Col de la Bonette, a 26-kilometer ascent, the elevation gain is 1,764 meters, or 6.8%.
Alongside the cycling event, there will be a foot race ascending the Col de la Bonette on the same route.
These two sporting events taking place on an open road, thanks to users (cars, motorcycles, RVs) and participants for respecting this shared space by adhering to safety and courtesy rules.
Snacks will be offered to participants before departure as well as refreshments at the start and at the top of the col.
Cycling activities (obstacle course, electric bike loan, mountain bike trial show) will accompany this event.
