Faced with climate issues, the Left Party advocates for the “ecosocialist” Republic.

2015 is the hottest year since 1880. However, the commitments made by governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions will not only fail to decrease the temperature but are likely to increase it by 3ยฐC or even more.

Yet, for the climate, action needs to be taken now, not in 2050! Solutions exist but require empowering the people! The oligarchy and certain multinationals are at the helm of COP21, the international climate conference that will take place in Paris from November 30 to December 11.

What can we expect from it when we know it will be held behind closed doors, away from citizens, and that the causes of emissions aren’t even mentioned in the draft agreement? The aid to the most vulnerable countries is negligible. Conducting a review every five years is ineffective if emission reduction remains a long-term goal rather than a short-term obligation.

As part of this COP, the Left Party will hold a debate this Thursday at 7 PM with Martine Billard, national leader of the PG and former Paris deputy, at CLAJ Clairvallon, 26 avenue Scudรฉri.

The Left Party has long been committed to the fight against climate change. Its project, the 6th Ecosocialist Republic, aims to transform our modes of production and consumption through ecological planning to build a more sustainable society in order to preserve the unique human ecosystem.
