Another beautiful reward for Cannes tourism in 2021
Last October, the city of Cannes was named “Europe’s Best Destination” by the World Travel Awards 2021, a new distinction was given to the pearl of palaces by the same institution which is akin to the “Oscars of tourism”.
Indeed, Cannes this time becomes the runner-up in the world category for “Best Destination for Festivals and Events”.
This year, the city hosted numerous international events, including of course the International Film Festival celebrating its 74th edition, MIPIM (International Market for Real Estate Professionals), MIPCOM (International Market of Communications Programs), the Yachting Festival, the Pyrotechnic Art Festival, the Silver Eco Festival, and recently the ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market).
With this new distinction, David Lisnard, the mayor of Cannes, expressed his delight with this award in this particular health context, and he also wished to congratulate all the contributors to Cannes tourism:
“This award is all the more beautiful and significant as it highlights the strength that Cannes has demonstrated in the current difficult context we are going through… I congratulate the teams of the town hall and the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, tourism professionals, partners, and also the people of Cannes”.
