Eric Ciotti’s final official visit in his capacity as President of the Departmental Council before officially submitting his resignation to the Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes tomorrow.
Symbolically, this visit is related to the reinforcing works of the left bank of the Var River between Colomars and Castagniers, a symbol of attention to the territory and its preservation.
This first phase of works involves securing access and the work zone, which will be maintained, as far as possible and depending on the Var River’s flooding, throughout the duration of the operation. This operation includes the refurbishment of the quarry road for nearly 2 km, the creation of a diversion channel for the Var River of nearly 1 km, and the creation of a cofferdam for nearly 1.5 km. After these preparatory works, the reinforcement of the 800-meter-long dike can begin from mid-September.
The next three phases of works will make it possible to reach the Recastron valley, located in Saint-Martin-du-Var, by 2020, thereby securing a total of 6.2 km of classified dikes. The final phase will be dedicated to the securing works of the Baou Roux sector.
