The Meeting Nikaïa hosts a 5-star cast of athletes during its 27th edition, thanks to the participation of several Olympic and Paralympic medalists.
Friday, June 15 will be the final step to qualify for the Olympic Games. The Nice International Meeting “Meeting Nikaïa” is an international athletics competition. Thus, for its 27th edition, the Meeting Nikaïa will once again be able to count on renowned athletes during its various events. Nice, with its history, weather conditions, and technological facilities, is the ideal place to perfect the physical preparations of the five athletes.
The five athletes who will perform in Nice are:
- Laura Muir, Olympic silver medalist in Tokyo for the 1500m. She will compete in the 800m event, which she requested from the organizers.
- In the men’s 1500m, Cameron Myers, an Australian athlete, holder of the world record for the distance in the cadet category.
- Sophie Hahn, also a medalist in Tokyo in 2021, and double Paralympic champion in the 100m.
- Eliza McCartney, a New Zealand athlete in women’s pole vault, bronze medalist in Rio, and world indoor vice-champion in 2024.
- The middle-distance running will be highlighted with Djamel Sedjati, an Algerian athlete, winner of the Mediterranean Games and world vice-champion in 2022.
