The Food Bank held its General Assembly in the presence of Jean Daniel Montet Jourdan, deputy prefect in charge of urban policy. On the agenda for this meeting was the presentation of the 2012 results, the definition of objectives for the current and upcoming years, and the election of new board members.
With nearly 120 participants including volunteers, Partner Associations, and elected representatives from the main municipalities in the department, the State representative was able to witness the dynamism, professionalism, and commitment of this associative network, which works throughout the year to provide food to the most disadvantaged in the department.
In an increasingly difficult social context, the Food Bank managed to meet demand by distributing 27% more food in 2012 than the previous year, mainly thanks to an increase in our daily collections in supermarkets (+33% over one year) and the generosity of our fellow citizens during Food Collections at the entrances of supermarkets (+17% over one year).
The association’s social support actions have not slackened, with the development of training sessions for Partner Associations and their beneficiaries: Food Hygiene and Safety, Listening Aid, Budget Management, Cooking Workshops, etc.
With the planned reduction of European aid and the increase in agricultural product and food prices, efforts will need to be continued and amplified in the months and years to come.
This General Assembly saw the renewal of one-third of our administrators (volunteers and Partner Associations) and was followed by a Board of Directors meeting that established the new Bureau responsible for the daily operational management:
President: Claude Sucosky
Vice Presidents: François Muller and Alain Roussel
Secretary: Philippe Gayol and Treasurer: Philippe Lucchesi
