This weekend, the Book Festival set up on the Pierre Gautier and Palais de Justice squares, celebrating Francophonie, whose next Games will be held in Nice at the beginning of September. On this occasion, Franck Viano, designer and former Director of Publication at Nice Premium, and currently, project manager for ITC at the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, is signing his first novel “My Friend Evil.”
“It is a true childhood dream coming true for me. Three book signing sessions for my first novel in the heart of the neighborhood where I was born and raised, is the culmination of years of work.” Indeed, it is in the heart of this same old city that a significant part of Franck Viano’s crime novel unfolds, not far from the location of the Book Festival stands. “It’s truly an honor to be alongside such well-known and talented authors like Eliette Abรฉcassis, Emilie Frรจche, Didier Van Cauwelaert, David Foenkinos, Bernard Werber, or Franz-Olivier Giesbert. Moreover, I am very happy to represent my publishing house, which is also 100% from Nice: Les Editions Du Bailli De Suffren.”
Therefore, the Niรงois author is giving three appointments on Friday 7, Saturday 8, and Sunday 9 June from 11 am to 7 pm at the Maison de la Presse stand to discover this first crime novel and to discuss the next one, which is expected to come out by the end of the year. The plot will again take place in Nice, this time in the world of local cuisine: “Nissart Killer is the story of a Niรงois serial killer targeting all the Azorean chefs who do not respect the tradition of Niรงois cuisine. So beware!”
“Of course, participating in fairs like those in Mouans Sartoux or Toulon is already very rewarding, but being present at this Nice Book Festival is by far the best reward…” A final word with a broad smile that you can find starting next Friday in the festival aisles.
