The sports and cultural competitions are well underway in various venues across the city of Nice. While the cyclists only had one day of events, all other disciplines continue to compete in a spirit of fraternity and sharing, values dear to the Francophonie.
The road cycling competitionโa demonstration event in this edition of the gamesโtook place on the Promenade des Anglais. 19 women and 19 men started the race, covering distances of 90 and 120 kilometers respectively.
The womenโs podium features Frenchwoman Christel Ferrier-Bruneau in first place (02:51:17), Lex Albrecht from Canada-Quรฉbec in second place (02:51:18), and another Frenchwoman, Aude Biannic, in third place (02:51:41).
As for the menโs race, the winning trio consists of three Frenchmen: Pierre Roger Latour (02:59:12), Mathieu Lelanvandier (02:59:18), and Anthony Maldonado (03:00:24).

Freestyle Wrestling
Freestyle wrestling delivered its first results in the womenโs section, at 55kg, Tatiana Debien (France) advances to the finals after defeating Han Hassou Hagada (Chad) in the quarter-finals and Michalak. K (Poland) in the semi-finals. She will face Samantha Stewart (Canada New Brunswick), who defeated the Ivorian Kang. I in the quarter-finals and Barry Brianne (Canada) in the semi-finals.

He will face Ohan Gikinyan (Armenia), who won against B. Andriamalala (Madagascar) in the quarter-finals and Adam Beinkowski (Poland) in the semi-finals.
In the 66kg category, Lonut Adrian Moise (Romania) qualifies for the finals after defeating Hama Gassissou (Chad) in the quarter-finals and Scott Schiller (Canada Quebec) in the semi-finals. He will meet Narek Sirunyan (Armenia), who defeated Diatta. V (Senegal) in the round of 16, Ibrahim. A (Qatar) in the quarter-finals, and Cedric Hudson (Canada) in the semi-finals.

Tale
Today, at the National Theatre of Nice (TNN), Group B of the storytelling event took place, featuring Burkina Faso, Cameroon, France, Mauritius, and Chad; storytellers had 25 minutes to narrate a tale based on a true, fictional, or symbolic story.
Song
Group A of the song event included delegations from France, Mauritania, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Morocco; each participant had 15 to 25 minutes of concert time, in French or their national language, to perform a song of their own composition at the Opera of Nice.
Creative Dance
Group A of the creative dance event included Niger, Canada-Quรฉbec, and Gabon; the groups, composed of 2 to 10 people, each presented a 25-minute creation specifically crafted for the Games to the numerous spectators at the TNN.
The cultural contests continue, with results expected by the end of the week.
