Nice’s women’s team won the 2026 France Cup in torball in Nantes. A first in the club’s history. After a solid run throughout the competition, the Nice players won in the final against Clermont-Ferrand and returned with the national trophy.
The Nice players made history for the club during the women’s France Cup in torball held in Nantes. At the end of an emotional weekend, the Côte d’Azur team won the first women’s national title in its history.
The trip had started under complicated conditions. The Nice delegation, composed notably of Sandrine, Kamélya, Clarisse, Delphine, Sébastien, François, Mikael, Thibaud, Yacine, Souleymane, Bernard, Mirlind and Insoim, had to deal with traffic disruptions before departure. Despite several setbacks, the entire group reached Nantes to participate in this 2026 France Cup edition.
A controlled run to victory
Entered in a competition bringing together five women’s teams, the Nice team quickly showed its ambitions.
The group stage ended with three victories and one defeat. Nice successively dominated Rezé (13-4), Reims (16-8) and Clermont-Ferrand (6-5), before losing to Bien Hêtre (5-4).
In the semi-final, the Nice players faced Rezé at home. A match won 10-7 that opened the doors to the final.
Against CAH Clermont-Ferrand, Nice delivered a complete performance. Thanks to solid defense and good offensive efficiency, the Côte d’Azur team won 6-0.
At the final whistle, the players were able to celebrate a success awaited for several seasons. The women’s torball France Cup trophy is thus headed to Nice.
Clarisse finished as Nice’s top scorer with 31 goals. Sandrine scores 22 goals while Djamila adds two goals. Kamélya also played an important role in defensive organization throughout the competition.
At the end of the tournament, the champions were still enjoying their performance: “We’re still over the moon.”
The men finish in fifth place nationally
In the men’s competition, Nice faced ten other teams. The Nice team qualified for the quarter-finals after a contested group stage. The run ended against Grenoble in a tight match decided in the final seconds. The men’s team finished fifth nationally.
François scored 15 goals during the weekend. Yacine scored nine, Souleymane six and Sébastien three.
In the final standings of the men’s France Cup, Toulouse leads Grenoble Handisport and ASCND Marseille. Nice takes the official fourth place.
This 2026 edition also marked the arrival of best player awards. Maïté, from the Bien Hêtre club, received the title of women’s MVP. Lucas, from Grenoble, was named men’s MVP.
Organized by the Voir avec les Mains club, the competition brought together French torball players for two days of sports competitions, exchanges and conviviality. For the Nice club, this first women’s France Cup title will remain an important date in its history.
