This Tuesday, the city of Nice welcomed a visit from Gabriel Attal, the government spokesperson. He came to meet with the residents of Nice to discuss the vaccination for 12-17-year-olds and the implementation of the health pass.

To highlight the purpose of his visit, Gabriel Attal first went to the Nice Exhibition Center, currently the city’s largest vaccination site. On the first floor, dedicated to minors, he was able to discuss adolescent vaccination.

Subsequently, the government spokesperson conversed with the vice-president of the UMIH (Union of Hospitality Trades and Industries) of the Alpes-Maritimes. During this meeting, Gabriel Attal discussed the establishment of the health pass, specifying that this week would be a trial period for implementing this measure in bars and restaurants: โ€œThe goal is for the implementation of this health pass to begin with some flexibility. If we didn’t have vaccination and the health pass, probably in a number of areas where the epidemic is widespread, we would have closed a certain number of places again.โ€

Gabriel Attal also spoke about the “booster shot” (3rd dose for the most vulnerable people), explaining that the issue would be a central topic of discussion before the defense council, chaired by Emmanuel Macron. Today, the defense council indeed adopted the booster shot plan. This concerns “those over the age of 80 who were vaccinated in the first quarter, whether they are in institutions or at home, but also immunocompromised individuals.”
