Students are bearing the brunt of the health crisis. Startway has therefore decided to make a gesture to help them.
Currently, it is a difficult period for students. Housing, the economy, meals, or the lack of social contact are becoming recurrent problems for these young people. Wishing to provide them with a form of support, Startway is demonstrating a commendable act of solidarity. The business center and coworking space developer has set up locations exclusively dedicated to students in several cities in France.
In Nice, the former La Poste mail sorting center, located on Avenue Thiers, has been converted into a welcoming and pleasant place. “We asked ourselves how we could be useful at this moment,” explains Alice Tortech, partnerships manager and spokesperson for Startway. “So, we decided to open coworking spaces for 1 euro a day, while taking measures to adhere to health guidelines.”
Positive Feedback
Alice Tortech acknowledges it. The student cause resonates with Startway: “We are all affected. We all know students in difficulty. For us, it was important to contribute because we felt concerned about this situation.” The coworking space notably provides Wi-Fi access and a lounge area. All of this is enhanced by recent and pleasant furniture to meet various needs. “We are very happy because we have a lot of positive feedback from students,” explains Alice Tortech. “It’s pleasing. We have a lot of requests, which means that it is well-received.”
At 1 euro a day, the price is relatively affordable for students. Moreover, it is a success. Indeed, the places are very often occupied as it allows young people to rediscover a form of social contact. As proof of this success, the Startway group is expected to create more locations for students, starting with Marseille, where a new space is set to open soon. In any case, it is a remarkable gesture of solidarity from Startway, ranked among the pioneers of coworking in France since its creation in 2008.
