The city of Nice, the comedian Gad Elmaleh, and Grégoire Furrer, director of the Montreux Comedy Festival, are launching “Jubil” in Nice, a new comedy festival, in October 2025. Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, Deputy President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, stated in a received press release: “It is an honor that Grégoire Furrer and Gad Elmaleh choose Nice for their new comedy festival! These two enthusiasts have demonstrated over time their ability to organize successful festivals…”
Why Nice and the Côte d’Azur?
A dozen comedians will perform in October 2025. Like Jamel Debbouze with the Marrakech du Rire, the comedians will gather every year to perform in shows that will be broadcast on television.
“For several years now, I’ve been dreaming of a big comedy festival that opens up to the Mediterranean. Nice appeared to me as obvious, welcoming us with open arms and a smile. I’ve brought a few ingredients and spices that I entrusted to a chef: Grégoire Furrer. The two of us are going to cook up something very special for you. With humor and love,” said the Franco-Moroccan comedian. The venue for the new festival is not yet known but should be announced soon.
