A meeting of the pain of black slaves and the joy of life of the Caribbean, gospel is today a true social phenomenon that touches everyone’s heart through the strength of its message and the beauty of its songs. On May 24, 1998, an exceptional concert took place, with 100 of the greatest gospel singers in the world participating to share their love and faith, in communion with the twelve thousand spectators at the P.O.P.B. Since then, “Gospel for 100 Voices” has been touring France and Europe to share their sublime show.
“In ordinary gospel concerts, the songs follow one another with some more or less well-arranged transitions by one of the group’s leaders. With “Gospel for 100 Voices”, the concert transforms into a show. Linda Lee Hopkins, the artistic director, becomes the master of ceremonies. She connects with the audience to gauge their enthusiasm. As the concert progresses, the spectator, invited to be more active, discovers that this show is also a celebration.
