This increasingly successful event brought together nearly 500 people, some of whom traveled from afar, like Daniel who came from Puy de Dรดme. They gathered, often moved and happy to share this moment. Sometimes as many as five generations of the same family come together around the table, sharing with the younger ones what their Trinity used to be like!
Claude Abejan, President and founder of the organizing association “I Love My Trini,” confided that “the Trinity festivity is above all a family celebration. We share everything and nothing, but it’s these little nothings that mean everything!”
Behind the scenes, little hands have been bustling since the morning to ensure everything is perfect and that the meal is ready on time. Meanwhile, a crowd also gathered around the exhibition of vintage photos, no less than 495 pictures assembled, including one from 1872!
The Mayor, Jean-Paul Dalmasso, present with many elected officials, was delighted to find himself in the photos: “It was during my communion, quite a few years ago, I’m happy, I’ll be able to get it back, I don’t have that one!”
Everyone shared their memories, anecdotes, and bursts of laughter flying from one side to the other! Mr. Jo Gasparetti was also present with his books on the Trinity, where he narrates the small and large history of this village that has become a city of nearly 13,000 inhabitants today!
After the friendship toast offered by the association, it was time for the meal. On the menu were pan Bagnat, socca, crepes, and also traditional games like “paillassou” brought by Cristou Daurore, and of course, music with “Nissa la Bella,” first played on the bagpipes and then on the accordion by Jean-Franรงois from the Provenรงal Academy of Cannes, or on the fife by Mรฉrรฉdith, 10 years old, and sung heartily by the entire room. It was all that was needed for the party to be a success.
This beautiful sunny day ended with the promise to meet again next year with even more laughter, sharing, and emotion!
