As with every school holiday period, the municipality of Nice undertakes work in the city’s establishments. During this Easter holiday, over 720,000 euros are invested to carry out 50 projects in 41 schools. The goal: to improve the reception conditions for students and staff.

During the spring holidays, the municipal services of Nice are mobilized in 41 schools to successfully complete various works. The total amount invested reaches 722,900 euros. These interventions include renovations, compliance upgrades, and improvements for thermal comfort or ecological transition.

The teams from the education department, the municipal buildings, and the green spaces get to work as they do every year during school holidays. They intervene in classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, and even digital infrastructures.

Nine million in investment per year

Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice, specifies: “We invest nearly 9 million euros each year in our education policy to ensure students have study conditions and an environment conducive to learning.”

Among the projects undertaken, 260,000 euros are dedicated to renovating buildings: floors replaced, windows changed, lighting modernized. This is the case at Thรฉrรจse Romรฉo 2 elementary, Pierre Merle, and Les Magnolias nursery schools. At Ventabrun school, LEDs replace the existing lighting for better energy efficiency.

Dining areas also receive particular attention. At Jean Moulin, the installation of air conditioning begins. At the Oliviers school group, it is the roof that starts to be renovated.

Four schools will benefit from a greening of their yard, amounting to 53,700 euros. Safety is not forgotten, with the installation of handrails in the staircases of two establishments.

Finally, the city plans the installation of fans in 18 classrooms in anticipation of the hot weather period, distributed across nine schools. A good startโ€ฆ The IT networks of two nursery schools will also be upgraded.
