A first accident involving two vehicles occurred mid-day on the left lane, at the exit of the Saint-Pierre-de-Féric tunnel, in Nice’s bypass.

Traffic was already slow following this incident. A traffic jam had formed upstream and the two lanes of traffic were reduced to one.

A few kilometers further, a second accident, this time involving a car, occurred on the left lane. The domino effect continued with a third difficulty that then complicated traffic in a matter of minutes. A car broke down on the right lane, still in the already congested area.

Up to 40 additional minutes on the A8

The succession of these three incidents resulted in a traffic jam of about ten kilometers on the A8 towards Italy. Traffic remains particularly difficult in Nice’s bypass.

At 12:15 p.m., travel time was announced at approximately 9 additional minutes after Nice Saint-Isidore North. At 12:34 p.m., the delay had already reached 25 minutes.

The last update, made at 1:03 p.m. by Vinci Autoroute, reported travel time extended by approximately 40 minutes on the A8 motorway towards Italy after Nice Saint-Isidore North.

With the end-of-holiday returns and the school year scheduled for the coming days, traffic could remain heavy in the area. Motorists are urged to exercise caution when approaching the affected areas.
