On this Tuesday, November 28, Nice lost 9-2 against Amiens in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France. An away game that would be one-sided for our Eagles.
Against Amiens, our Eagles were outmatched. This match was crucial for the Eagles since it provided access to the semi-finals of the Coupe de France. The game started well, though. The people from Nice managed to stay close to Amiens’ score with only a 1-point gap at the end of the first period. The score was 3-2 at the start of the second period with a goal scored by Yoan Salve at the 8th minute and a goal by Jesper Larinmaa that gave the team hope at the 18th minute.
The nightmare of the second and third periods
After a first period that offered real hope for a victory, Nice completely collapsed. The Eagles team would not score again in the match and ended up being dominated by the Goths. One player stood out on the opponents’ side, Danik Bouchard, who scored a hat-trick. It was a difficult match, as the team missed their chance. This forced the people from Nice to say goodbye to their dreams of the Coupe de France semi-finals.
Nonetheless, taking the loss gracefully, the Eagles wish Amiens the best for the rest of their journey in the Coupe de France. They look forward to seeing you at the 21st day of the championship, which will see Nice face off against Grenoble at home for our Eagles.
