Hockey: the Eagles cause an upset and claim victory against Grenoble, the league leaders.

Latest News

High suspense match last night at Jean Bouin between the Eagles and Grenoble, a team largely dominant at this stage of the championship. Ultimately, it was the team from Nice that won, even if it was in a penalty shootout.

But there are victories that leave a sweet taste, like the one against the Isère team, and this was one of those.

Fiercely rival teams, both played every puck with commitment, as reflected in the score.

The Eagles were the first to open the scoring in the first period, thanks to Heizer.

The “Brûleurs de Loups” responded by taking the lead, before Kopta and Carpantier brought Nice to 3-2. All of this in the second period, showing just how intensely it was played by both teams.

The third period saw the locals defend fiercely, before Grenoble equalized at the end of the match.

Overtime didn’t change a thing, as in the penalty shootout, all four Grenoble players failed, while two of the three players from Nice scored.

Thus, the Eagles won the match, claimed two points, and strengthened their qualifying position for the play-offs.
