Here we go, registrations have been open since this morning for the 3rd edition of “I’m Moving! With the City of Nice” and will remain open until April 12th. It’s a way for residents of Nice aged 18 to 65 who have never run a marathon to participate in the race from Nice to Cannes on November 10th and complete it in under 4 hours and 15 minutes.
In this land of running, triathlon, and sports in general, such an initiative makes perfect sense. It’s especially a great opportunity to prove to any novice that it’s possible to take on a 42.195 km race. But before thinking about getting your bib number, you need to go through training sessions (1). Therefore, you must register on the City of Nice’s website (www.nice.fr) starting today at 10 a.m. until April 12th at 3:45 p.m., the final deadline, to join Christophe Pinna’s project.
The Azurean karateka, multiple Champion of France, Europe, and the World, also capitalized on his fame to become the gym instructor for the Star Academy candidates from 2005 to 2008. Still involved in the sports world, he decided to launch this project with the City to give as many people as possible the chance to discover the marathon. There are some requirements to be able to register. You must be between 18 and 65 years old, reside in Nice, and have never run a marathon before.
You will need to commit to attending all the training sessions and, of course, be present on November 10th for the race. Itโs a great opportunity to prove to yourself that you are capable of running a marathon. To do it in under 4 hours and 15 minutes. And as Christophe Pinna reminds us, the marathon “holds beautiful surprises, sometimes a few disappointments, and one of life’s greatest joys: the finish, with arms raised, the stopwatch finally stopped. A liberation, an achievement, a dream realized, a goal achieved.”
