The Eagles of Nice were defeated after a shootout (3-4) against the bottom team of the league. The team from Nice still takes 1 point and remains the leader of the French D1 championship.
It was the trap match, and the team from Nice fell into it… The Eagles took the game lightly and were quickly penalized. Yet, Stan Sutor’s men dominated the match (50 shots against 25 for Amnéville…), but the team from the Côte d’Azur came up against an Amnéville team determined to give their all on the ice so as not to have any regrets…
After this surprise defeat, another change is announced: The Eagles’ forward, Andrej THEMAR, is leaving the club while a former player, Stefan RUSNAK, is returning. He recorded 45 points last season in 32 games. The former number 51 for the Eagles will start training next week and play his first match of the season against Montpellier.
The Eagles take 1 point and remain first in the league.
