Launched in 2006, the Swedish giant’s establishment project has encountered issues that delayed its opening by 6 years!
The president of IKEA France, Walter Kadnar, announced during a construction site visit that on May 11, Ikea will finally open its doors.
Final stretch for this complex with a commercial area of 32,000 m² and 286 housing units. Located in the Var plain, in the heart of the Saint-Isidore eco-district, the construction, which will have to be harmonized with the site, will be situated right next to the Allianz Riviera stadium.
The store will stand out from all other Ikeas in France with its blue enameled glass façade, its roof designed as a fifth façade, its 7,000m² of green solar panels, and its vegetated spaces.
Ikea promises around 400 jobs, and 26% of the housing units will be designated as social housing.
