An overview of scientific knowledge on immigration in France
What are the main findings of the scientific research conducted on immigration in France? What do they teach us in light of todayโs societal debates? This day aims to provide an overview of scientific knowledge on immigration in France, through the presentation of work by researchers from various disciplines (demography, law, economics, geography, sociology).
The organizers: a research laboratory and field associations
Supported by the “Migrations and Society” Research Unit (URMIS, UMR 205 โ University/IRD), in collaboration with the education network without borders and field actors and associations, this event is both scientific and educational. The presentations will result in a collective publication, including an online publication deposited on the multidisciplinary open archive HAL (https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/index.php).
This day aims to contribute to the valorization of research in the humanities and social sciences through the dissemination and communication of scientific knowledge to the general public in the PACA region. As such, this day specifically targets professionals in social and community work, national education and universities, and students as young citizens.
The researchers’ presentations and the debates with field actors may continue around exhibitions, slam sessions, and music, at the associations’ table, and in the evening during a festive musical meal.
