In the spring, the LGBT Festival “In&Out,” presented by Les Ouvreurs, has become an essential event. With 25 films among the latest exclusives of major European festivals, 10 days of screenings and parties, the 4th edition aims to be more political than ever!
Already the 4th edition of the In&Out Meetings… And once again this year, Les Ouvreurs have redoubled their efforts to offer an event rich in films and unique happenings.
This year, the event will take place at five screening locations – the MAMAC, the Thรฉรขtre de la Citรฉ, the Villa Arson, Le Mercury, and Le Rialto, and for the first time ever, the festival will feature a special “outside the walls” day in Cannes.
With more than 25 films selected from the greatest European festivals (Berlinale, Cannes, Chรฉries Chรฉris, Pink Screens), In&Out once again offers an ambitious and varied program, mixing “mainstream” works with experimental or erotic cinema. Special events accompany the screenings: Dyke Eyes, a photography exhibition by Emilie Jouvet; the presentation/signing of Wendy Delorme’s latest book, La mรจre, la Sainte, la putain; Betty Speaks, the latest show by Louise de Ville, and Le Cabaret Sexuel, the event piece by Compagnie Miranda, SIS Association, and Mutualitรฉ Franรงaise.
An event open to the city and the world, seeking audiences from diverse backgrounds, which will be decidedly more political this year, as it takes place between the two rounds of the French presidential election. The perfect opportunity to open the debate on current issues: homoparentality, homophobia and its consequences, the question of undocumented immigrants…
In a word, In&Out remains more than ever the essential celebration of queer creativity on the Cรดte d’Azur, while tackling deep societal debates, and in these uncertain political times, that’s a relief!
