Inaugural concert for “C’est pas classique” 2013

Latest News

This Friday, November 8, the 9th edition of “C’est pas classique” will be inaugurated by the concert of the “Bouquet final” Quartet.

The Quartet, a legend and a benchmark in musical humor, is on its farewell tour after 35 years of an exceptional career universally acclaimed.

For this farewell show, the four musketeers of the bow, under the direction of Alain Sachs, are offering a performance revisiting over thirty years of creation.

This grand finale skillfully combines music, theater, and clownish humor… a truly irresistible musical frenzy with extraordinary artists sure to delight both young and old, music lovers or novices.

Again this year, thousands of middle schoolers from the department will have the chance to approach classical music differently, notably by discovering the use of classical music samples by many French song composers.

Serge Gainsbourg is an artist who particularly stood out in this field. His song “Jane B.” is notably based on Prelude No. 4 by Frédéric Chopin. The students will study this composition in class and then perform it in chorus with the Symphony Orchestra and students from the National Regional Conservatory of Nice.

The musicians will also play other Serge Gainsbourg titles such as “Initials BB,” “Boomerang,” and “Bonnie and Clyde,” as well as a medley of Jeff Buckley.

Last year, 2,500 middle schoolers attended the concert of the duo Igudesman & Joo, and were immersed in their offbeat world that combines classical music, comedy, and popular culture.
