It is in the heart of the Saint Roch district that a brand new social and solidarity grocery store for students has been inaugurated. An initiative in line with the desire to combat the precariousness of student life.
For several years now, the City of Nice and its partners have been carrying out joint or complementary actions for young people and students. These initiatives aim to help them meet their essential needs but also to continue their studies and learning journey. All of this will, in the long term, allow them to successfully enter the workforce and establish a future life under optimal conditions.
It is noteworthy that Nice is the first city in France to have opened a solidarity grocery store for students in 2012, called Agora-é. Additionally, in 2021, Nice inaugurated a solidarity restaurant in the city center, at the crossroads of university campuses. A great way for students in precarious situations to enjoy consumer products at a lower cost.
It is with this perspective that the City of Nice launched a call for projects, which was won by Face 06, to create a new social and solidarity grocery store for students in the Saint Roch district. This will be inaugurated on Monday, December 12 at 5:30 PM, demonstrating the commitment to go even further in the fight against food insecurity and the social isolation of young people.
