For the third year, the Nice Wholesale Markets (MIN) are organizing the “MIN EN FETE” at the MIN St Augustin site on May 13 and 14, 2006, from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm.
This event, created by Joseph Calza, President of Sominice and Vice-President of the General Council, is growing in success each year and welcomed 27,000 visitors in 2005.
The “MIN EN FETE” aims to freely introduce the general public to the quality products marketed at the Nice Wholesale Markets and the companies located there.
However, this year’s goal is much more significant by involving the CDOS (Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee) and launching the National “Fresh Attitude” Week with INTERFEL (Interprofessional Fruits and Vegetables).
The presence of INTERFEL is indeed indispensable to emphasize the nutritional and gastronomic qualities of fresh fruits and vegetables. This is beneficial to consumers and, of course, to all operators in the fruit and vegetable sector, including those based at the MIN of Nice.
The Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee, which includes 2,500 sports clubs and more than 220,000 members in the Alpes-Maritimes, will contribute to the event with an omnipresent dynamism!
Numerous sports demonstrations await visitors in the MIN Flowers hall since, let’s not forget, 2006 is the year of women in sports.
Two energetic days of sport and freshness will be offered to the public from the Alpes-Maritimes, Var, Bouches du Rhône, Alpes de Haute Provence, and the Italian Riviera.
The program for these two days includes:
– Exhibition by producers and wholesalers:
– Agricultural products,
– Food products,
– Horticultural products,
– Presentation of old agricultural equipment,
– Tasting of local products,
– Presentation of farm animals,
– Equestrian activities,
– Various animations, regional folklore,
– Catering,
– Children’s games,
– Sports demonstrations.
It’s the perfect opportunity to “recharge” with fruit and vegetable producers and wholesalers and other food products, not to mention discovering rare or traditional flowers and plants that enhance the art of floristry and gardening.
“LES MIN EN FETE” will welcome nearly 250 exhibitors in the grandiose setting of the Wholesale Market near the MIN “Flowers” and under several tents.
“LES MIN EN FETE” is an opportunity to meet, over more than 50,000 sqm, producers, wholesalers of fruits – vegetables – flowers – and food products, specialists in Beauty – Goodness – and Tradition.
Under another hall, 150 exhibitors will showcase their expertise: gastronomic products, old flavors, forgotten recipes, wines and spirits from local terroirs will be available for tasting and sale, not to mention crafts.
Private collections of old tractors will be featured along with an exhibition of old equipment and tools from departmental Eco-museums.
Road safety and the gendarmerie will also be present to teach young people the basic rules of the road and safety.
The presence of the SDA will allow those who wish to adopt an animal and thus make it happy.
The MIN haven’t forgotten the children! They have prepared surprises for them with entertainment structures and games.
A farm with sheep and goats will delight everyone. Nice Equitation will offer equestrian shows, on-site lessons, pony and horse rides.
A first: an ox-drawn cart will allow the youngest to rediscover the work of their ancestors when they went to the fields…
For these two days, the MIN of Nice will become a space for local gastronomy. Visitors will be able to discover the true flavor of Niçoise dishes in 14 dining points: Socca – Pan Bagnat – Niçoise salad which will be part of the festivities, among many other surprises.
