In order to allow the residents of Nice to fully enjoy their retirement, Christian Estrosi has implemented a dynamic policy in favor of the 100,000 seniors of Nice.
The municipality, through its “Delegation for Senior Citizenship,” organizes numerous activities that allow them to fully participate in city life, both intellectually and in terms of leisure.
On Thursday, April 12, the first “thematic” Senior House will be inaugurated. The one located within the Alfred Mรฉarelli stadium is dedicated to sports.
Last year, the Alfred Mรฉarelli stadium underwent significant renovation work: the creation of a new-generation synthetic field, complete refurbishment of the 610-seat stand, renovation of the basketball and handball courts, creation of 14 pรฉtanque courts on the upper section and 3 on the lower section, creation of a clubhouse for the pรฉtanque area and a multipurpose hall…
The multipurpose hall at the stadium now offers specific activities for seniors who wish to participate in the sports activities organized for them at the Mรฉarelli site.
They will be able to practice:
– Yoga on Thursdays from 10 am to 12 pm;
– Table tennis on Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm and with free access during opening hours;
– Pรฉtanque in the afternoons in partnership with the pรฉtanque area;
– Team sports (basketball, handball, football…) on Fridays;
– Card games in the afternoons;
– And participate in the “FIT Seniors” program on Fridays from 8:30 am to 10 am, from April 1 to September 30 and from 10 am to 11:30 am, from October 1 to March 31.
The city of Nice will gradually open other thematic Senior Houses across the territory.
