Saturday, August 6, 2011, at 9 a.m. Route of the Pic La Colmiane chairlift
The new detachable chairlift of Pic de la Colmiane allows skiers, pedestrians, mountain bikers, and summer sleds to reach the summit of Pic de La Colmiane, at an altitude of 1,800 meters, in just 4 minutes.
It replaces the old fixed chairlift, which was twice as slow and less functional. Its capacity has been increased by 12.5%, reaching 1,800 people per hour, with a possible increase to 2,200 people per hour.
Its boarding and disembarking speed makes access easier for beginner skiers as well as pedestrians. Its features and transportation comfort appeal to outdoor activity enthusiasts, who can now easily carry their equipment such as mountain bikes and paragliders.
Operated 8 months a year, both winter and summer, this new equipment is a key asset to boost the summer activity of the resort and provides an ideal opportunity to discover or rediscover the summer sled with its 1,620 meters in length, 420 meters of descent, and 22 bends!
This operation, valued at 3.6 million euros, is funded by the Colmiane joint syndicate, supported up to 90% of its budget by the General Council.
