International Traveling Photography Exhibition “POLAROID: EASY ART?”

Opening on September 15 at MUSEEAAV, 16 bis, Place Garibaldi

International itinerant photographic exhibition “POLAROID: EASY ART?” After a very successful debut in 2010 at the Castle of Dolceacqua in Liguria (with thousands of visitors in just a few weeks), the exhibition arrives on September 15, 2011, in beautiful Nice, just steps away from Italy.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the MUSEEAAV museum in Nice, the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Nice and the French Riviera, and Polaroid-passion.com (one of the most important European social networks dedicated to Polaroid images).

The 128 images displayed (double the number from 2010) were created by 87 photographers and artists from various countries around the world (including France and Italy).

The exhibition will showcase the most creative works made with this widely-used photographic medium.

The exhibition is inspired by the “disappearance-reappearance” of Polaroid films (which disappeared from the market due to the bankruptcy of the US Polaroid brand in 2008 and were “recreated from scratch” for sale from 2010 by former employees of the European branch and are currently intended for artists and photographers). Polaroid has been, and still is, a widely used creative medium.

There is currently a great resurgence of interest in images created in the “old-fashioned, non-digital” way (both at the amateur and professional artistic level).

The greatest contemporary artists have engaged with instant photography from 1948 (the year of its invention) to the present day.
