Two weeks before the 2011 cantonal elections, Nice Premium decided, on the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, to kill two birds with one stone. It is an opportunity for these candidates to assess whether or not there have been efforts towards gender parity in the political world.

-What do you think of the role of women in politics today?
-Do they feel that the electorate/media can sometimes be sexist?
-What should change in politics to establish natural gender parity?
-Do you think a woman could ever be elected President of the Republic in France?
These are some of the questions they can answer based on their own experiences.
Candidates from all the districts of Nice were contacted: in the 5th district, Roseline Grac (Left Party) and Catherine Moreau (New Centre). Dominique Boy-Mottard (PRG) candidate in the 7th district. Juliette Chesnel-Le Roux (Europe Ecology) in the 8th. Roxanne Georges (Nissa Rebela) and Florence Ciavarola (Alternatives) candidates in the 10th district of Nice. Marie-Edith Cattet and Aulde Maisonneuve (Nissa Rebela) candidates respectively in the 11th and 12th districts. Frรฉdรฉrique Grรฉgoire-Concas (PS) also in the 12th district. Finally, Dominique Estrosi-Sassone (UMP) in the 14th district.
