On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, organized by the UN since 1977 and recognized in France in 1982, the City of Nice, the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, and the National Theater of Nice are collaborating to present a musical show entitled “Women, the Time of a Song.”
This event creatively showcases a musical tour in 11 scenes featuring a varied repertoire of inspiring great female singers from our history: Josรฉphine Baker, Edith Piaf, Jessye Norman, Maria Callas, and more.
“Women, the Time of a Song” is a musical show conceived and performed by soprano Diane Frรฉmaux, accompanied by two musicians: Stรฉphane Eliot on the Electone (symphonic organ) and Serge Gallice on electric guitar.
From opera to operetta, musicals, and great French and international voices, Diane Frรฉmaux offers a series of selected pieces by interpreting famous singers such as Maria Callas, Jessye Norman, Edith Piaf, Barbra Streisand, and Liza Minnelli. Renowned works will also be highlighted, including “Carmen” (Bizet), Cabaret (Fred Ebb), and “Once Upon a Time in America” (Ennio Morricone).
