The Ironman Triathlon and Ironman 70.3 will take place this Sunday, June 29, in Nice. These two competitions will lead to road closures in the Nice metropolitan area and the surrounding hinterland. Traffic will be disrupted for a good part of the day.

The Ironman France and Ironman 70.3 competitions will be held this Sunday in Nice. In addition to the swimming event in the Mediterranean, participants will complete a cycling course of up to 180 kilometers for the full Ironman and 92 km for the 70.3 format. The last stage will be on foot along the Promenade des Anglais.

To allow the passage of the athletes, several departmental and metropolitan roads will be closed to traffic. These restrictions will affect both the center of Nice and the hinterland, with closures that could last up to ten hours.

Road closures from Sunday morning until late afternoon

The first closures will begin at 5 a.m. The exit from the A8 motorway at Saint-Laurent-du-Var (nยฐ49) will be closed in both directions until noon.

Roads in downtown Nice, such as the Promenade des Anglais or Quai des ร‰tats-Unis, will also be impacted. Access to the seafront from the airport will be closed. Local detours will be set up.

Traffic will be restored after the passage of the sweep vehicle. Emergency vehicles will still be allowed to circulate on the entire route.

On the metropolitan side, closures are planned in:
