The Grand Prix of the 27th edition of the Annecy
Italian Cinema Festival was awarded to La bella gente by Ivano de Matteo, which also won the Cicae Prize
(International Confederation of Art and Experimental Cinemas).
Produced by X Film in four weeks with a budget of 450,000 euros, the film, featuring Monica Guerritore,
Antonio Catania, Victoria Larchenko, and Elio Germano, recounts
(screenplay by Valentina Ferlan) the misadventures of a family taking in
a young prostitute from the East to save her.
But these generous intentions will quickly clash with personal interests…
