A vibrant Jacques Peyrat addressed his supporters from the Entente Républicaine ahead of the upcoming elections. The old lion is always ready for battle, metaphorical mane in the wind.
“In 2008, 25,000 people from Nice chose me and the Entente Républicaine had 9 candidates elected to the Municipal Council. Since then, almost all have succumbed to the siren’s call and have become collaborators of Zorro (editor’s note: Christian Estrosi), this naturally dishonest liar,” said Jacques Peyrat, who retains all his eloquence.
“But this is only a postponement, in 2014 I will be a candidate for Mayor, with the support of the FN, Nissa Rebela, RPF, UPR, and some repatriate associations, and we will head to a confrontation, record against record, mine from 2001 to 2008 and his from 2008 to 2014! Believe me, I would not venture into such an adventure if the people of Nice were not showing me their support and their hopes of seeing me reclaim the keys to the City.”
However, the focus today is on national matters, particularly the electoral campaign for the presidential election. Here again, Jacques Peyrat proves to be a man of conviction: “The turning point is now, in the first round. We must generate a sense of national unity; we must all unite to defend our values against the Islamic invasion.
And again, “Let’s be clear. There is an ideological war by the Salafists and jihadists against our civilization, we must fight it and, under certain exceptional circumstances, reconsider the Penal Code to reinstate the death penalty.”
To conclude: “Of course, Marine (editor’s note: Le Pen) is my candidate!”
The next step? The legislative elections!
“Yes, I will be a candidate in the 1st constituency (expanded to 6 cantons, two more than during the previous consultation which will be a very important test in view of the municipal elections) and my deputy will be Hervé de Surville. I will oppose the outgoing deputy Eric Ciotti and I am looking forward to this opportunity.”
The final word: “After more than 25 years in political life, I still want to put my experience at the service of Nice and the people of Nice. I announce that in November, a book will be published in which I will discuss my political action and my relationship with the residents of Nice. I will not fail to mention the current Mayor, who has 3 official cars with 3 drivers and 2 bodyguards at his service. I simply had 1 car with 1 driver and only one bodyguard.”
Clearly, Jacques Peyrat has not yet digested what he calls Christian Estrosi’s betrayal during the 2008 municipal elections and whom he considers an usurper of a position, that of the Mayor of Nice, which still sticks to him.
The soldier has therefore not laid down his arms and seems to have kept all his eloquence and vigor. We can expect some fierce (verbal) battles ahead!
