Friday, February 28, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Stockfish hall was transformed into a true celebration palace to welcome young Nice carnival revelers.

After the Veglione Ball, for adults, came the Kids Ball, for children! As part of the festivities of the Nice Carnival 2026, themed “Long Live the Queen!” and which has been animating the city since February 11, the traditional afternoon dedicated to children came to life yesterday at Stockfish, in Nice. Organized specially for the young audience, this children’s carnival offered two hours of merriment, games and costumed parades, transforming the venue into a joyful scene where imagination and creativity reigned supreme.

From 2 p.m. onwards, children and adults were invited to come in costume: superheroes, princesses, fantastic animals, clowns or invented characters… All ideas were welcome to participate in this carnival celebration that values expression and fantasy. In an atmosphere filled with catchy music, the Stockfish hall vibrated with laughter, dancing and applause.

Games, creative workshops and costume contests punctuated the afternoon, allowing each child to express their imagination freely. The volunteers and organizers present encouraged the shyest to join the impromptu parades, transforming every corner of the Stockfish into a space of collective joy.

Coronation and playful learning

One of the key elements of this edition: the adaptation of the official theme “Long Live the Queen!” to the world of children. Some workshops were thus devoted to creating crowns, masks and colorful accessories, giving participants the opportunity to personalize their outfits and feel truly part of the carnival.

A small jury—composed of organizers and members of the organizational team—even crowned some “Little Queen” and “Little King” of the carnival, praising the talent, originality and contagious joy of these young carnival revelers.

This event is part of the rich tradition of the Nice Carnival, a major event on the French Riviera that, every year, mobilizes residents, associations, artists and families around a festive, popular and intergenerational program.

By combining games, creativity and conviviality in a welcoming and safe venue, the children’s carnival at Stockfish reminded everyone that Nice’s celebrations are also for the youngest, future carnival revelers who learn to celebrate together the diversity, fantasy and pleasure of festive moments across all ages!
