We will have the greatest pleasure of reuniting with the trio of singer Yaël Angel (with Yann Fischer on piano and Serge Ferrero on double bass), for a tribute to Monk and Coltrane.
Yaël Angel sings Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane, a repertoire on which vocalists venture very rarely. She presents a unique vision of these two giants of modern jazz, with pieces sung for the first time and vocal renditions of some saxophone improvisations by John Coltrane. Remarkable for her very distinctive voice, Yaël Angel was notably acclaimed as a “Talented Woman” in the field of music, alongside Elisabeth Vidal.
With her partners Jérome Vinson and then Yann Fischer, she also brilliantly and excellently led jazz presentations for 600 schoolchildren of La Gaude during the “Meetings” in 2009 and 2010.
