A few days ago, the Unsubmissive supporters led by the leader maximo Méluche and the communists decided to join forces in the electoral districts of Nice.
Yesterday, they announced the names of the candidates: District 1: Robert INGEY (substitute: Liliane DOTTA); District 3: Bruno COULET (substitute: Sophie BOURNOT); District 5: Philippe PELLEGRINI (substitute: Christine EVAIN).
While waiting to face Eric Ciotti, who will be one of his opponents, Robert Injey, who is the most politically experienced of the three (the other two candidates being novices), did not waste any time and began the barrage with a commentary titled: the end of the masquerades!
His reading suggests that this electoral campaign will not be a walk in the park for anyone!
This Monday, May 15, saw two masquerades come to an end.
The first is the return of Christian Estrosi to his mayoral seat. After 16 months in which Christian Estrosi invented the function of a “fictitious mayor,” here he is returning to the previous state for reasons of personal convenience. The citizens of the PACA region and Nice will likely appreciate very little being an adjustment variable for Christian Estrosi’s whims.
The second is the appointment of Edouard Philippe, the Republican deputy mayor of Le Havre, to the position of Prime Minister. This appointment illustrates, if there was any doubt, that the neither left nor right stance of the new President actually conceals the old recipes of liberal policies. Emmanuel Macron now seeks a majority to act as he sees fit with a program that, starting this summer, will be marked by the eroding of the Labor Code, the continued dismantling of public services, and further cuts to local government budgets…
In this context, the legislative elections take on new importance, to bring the greatest number of deputies possible from the forces (France Insoumise, PCF, Ensemble!…) opposing the liberal drift and the accompanying authoritarianism to the Assembly.
