The LENVAL Foundation has created a school for childcare assistants, the first school within a hospital facility in the Alpes-Maritimes department, to meet the continuously rising demand for specialized early childhood personnel.
The school has been accredited to train annually twenty childcare assistants in a full program and five childcare assistants in a partial program. It operates under the administrative supervision of the Regional Health Agency.
Open to holders of a CAP/BEP Level V, this short-duration diploma program (10 months) welcomed its first class of 20 students in September 2010. Located on the 7th floor of the Lenval Foundation, the school alternates theoretical courses and six 4-week practical internships in institutions that care for children. It will enable the new graduates to join multi-reception structures (nurseries, daycares, kindergartens), pediatric hospital facilities, maternity services, or structures that welcome children with disabilities or in Child Social Assistance structures.
The entrance competition
For the full program: 144 candidates applied in June 2010,
57 candidates were admissible, 20 candidates were selected
For the partial program: 13 candidates applied in June 2010,
5 candidates were selected
The partial program training is for individuals who hold the State diploma of nursing assistant, the certificate of aptitude for aid in medico-psychological functions, and the State diploma of social life auxiliary, and who wish to obtain their State diploma of childcare assistant. These candidates are exempt, depending on their diploma, from certain training modules.
A Diploma-awarding Training
In a bid to remain close to existing realities and ongoing developments, it is a place of exchange and reflection in the field of child care and family services.
The missions of the School for Childcare Assistants are:
-to provide training aimed at obtaining the State diploma of childcare assistant in both full and partial programs
-to provide preparatory training for entry into the childcare assistant training.
