LGBT Center: In 2017, for the common good and against discrimination

Latest News

Meet at the beginning of the year at the LGBT* Center to discuss and share experiences from the past year and plans that will keep the spirit of solidarity alive in 2017.

As a social and resource hub, the LGBT Center supports individuals questioning their orientation, gender identity, or those who are victims of discrimination. It welcomes more than 2,000 people per year.

The new president, Erwann Le Hรด, who has been in charge since April 2016, recalled the milestones of the past year and emphasized the desire to “accelerate” support actions for “invisible people” in 2017, reaching out to those who do not embrace their condition in society: “We will continue to work so that everyone is the master of their body, their life, and their destiny,” he clearly stated.

“It is necessary to come out of the shadows,” he urged, “and work towards an inclusive societal model. In the face of obscurantism and conservatism, we do our part to uphold the values of fraternity, respect, and progress, against all odds.”

On this occasion, the walls of the LGBT Center hosted the exhibition “Nice by Frank de Saint Claude.” The author presents several of his photos, showcasing his talent and love of Nice, its heritage, and its light.
