Disappeared last October while on duty during Storm Alex, the body of Loïc Millo was never found. On the proposal of the Ministry of the Interior, he is cited at the order of the nation.


On October 2, 2020, Loïc Millo, a volunteer firefighter, was on duty with Commander Bruno Kohlhuber. They were both in a vehicle heading towards Roquebillières, in the Vésubie Valley. Around 9:30 PM, as they drove through the night under heavy rain, the road collapsed, taking the car and the two firefighters with it.

Commander Bruno Kohlhuber, whose body was found dead several days after the storm had passed, was cited at the order of the nation. Loïc Millo, however, was never found. He was declared dead at the end of December 2021.

This Tuesday, January 4, the firefighters of Alpes-Maritimes announced that he would be cited at the order of the nation for “courage and exemplary dedication”. Charles-Ange Ginésy, president of the department, described this as a “deserved tribute”.
