MARCH AT THE MUSEUMS: Students “Make” Culture in Nice

Latest News

For the twelfth consecutive year, the students of the MICA association, the city of Nice, and the University of Nice are presenting this event, whose theme varies each year. For the 2013 edition, travel is the theme proposed to students. It aims to allow them to escape physically, mentally, and through imagination.

It is also an opportunity to step into these places called museums, which they may never have visited. This journey is thus a discovery of a cultural and heritage universe, which will show them that a museum is not a dark and dusty place but a lively one. Each museum will offer the opportunity for travel and escape: “Students, escape!” says the poster’s slogan.

In 2012, nearly 4,500 students responded to this call. The organizers are taking on the challenge of surpassing this number. March at the Museums is not just a guide to encourage visits to a cultural site but, above all, an incentive to participate in the event and become an active participant.

There are workshops, theater, concerts, and shows. “Be the actors of your life!” Students will have the opportunity to do so. Moreover, a puzzle game will offer a chance to win a trip, but hush, its destination will be revealed on March 7 during the inauguration evening at Palais Lascaris.

From March 7 to March 28, the event invites visitors to Nice’s museums where theater, dance, music, improvisations, and performances, created by students for students, will be various stages of this journey through time, history, art, and imagination. On March 8, at 3 p.m. in Place Masséna, there will be an open-air museum with a board game. The puzzle game will take place from stage to stage, each visited location being a question and a clue to the puzzle.

The 2013 program is very rich, with 17 events, almost one per day, marking this edition of March at the Museums.
