While on the campaign trail in Nice, National Front candidate Marine Le Pen, accompanied by her party’s two local leaders Olivier Bettati and Philippe Vardon, paid tribute to the victims of July 14 and visited the Menton-Saint Louis border post, which is becoming something of a “chapel of visitation”! (François Fillon also visited the same place in January).
The opportunity arose for her to present her argument: “Nothing has been done to limit the risk of attack,” she stated, continuing, “Of course, there is no such thing as zero risk, but here it is 100% risk because we allow people to stay in our territory who have no reason to be here and whom we know to be potentially very dangerous for the security of the French people.”
“The measures that should have been taken have not been,” and everyone understood that if she were elected, things would change. Mrs. Le Pen promises to “put an end to Schengen.”
“Everyone today admits that there are terrorists infiltrating among the migrants, and therefore, border control is a sine qua non condition for fighting terrorism,” she concluded.
